Hey Diamond Nannies,

Once you succeed in securing a wonderful employer here in Canada, things tend to snowball very quickly. One of the most crucial points is when you need to complete a medical examination by a doctor for the embassy. We know it can very difficult to get away to complete the examination, especially if your Hong Kong employers are unaware of your plans for Canada. What makes it extra tough is the fact that you work 6 days a week, and some doctors aren’t open on Sundays!

Well, Diamond is here to help! We reached out to our incredible Facebook community, and many have responded with helpful suggestions. Please see the list below for medical offices that should be open on Saturdays:

A TREMENDOUS THANK YOU to our Facebook friend, “Tana Tano” for your incredible work and investigative skills.

Please also visit the CIC website for more options. When you receive your request from the embassy to complete your medical examination, YOU MUST COMPLETE IT WITHIN 48 HOURS.

THIS IS CRUCIAL.

MEDICAL EXAMINATIONS MUST BE COMPLETED WITHIN 48 HOURS!

Hey Diamond Nannies,

It is essential that once you receive your request from the embassy to complete your medical examination and police clearance, that you complete them within 48 hours!

Do not delay the process even longer! Your employers in Canada are excited to have you, and we want to get you here as quickly as possible.

We know it can be very difficult to get away from work, especially if your employers are unaware of your plans to come to Canada. But remember: the sooner you complete the embassy requests, the sooner you can come to Canada! Beg an hour or two away from work so that you can complete the medical and the police clearance! Tell your employers you have an appointment, which is 100% true. We know it can be hard to get away from work, but it is imperative that you complete everything within 48 hours.

There are so many reasons as to why Diamond Personnel is continually the best caregiver agency in Canada. Really —  there are many reasons as to why Diamond Personnel continues to rise to the top of Canadian caregiver agencies.

It’s not just the awards,it’s not just the heartwarming and honest testimonials we receive (click here to read some, and here for even more!), it’s not the Hong Kong orientations and interviews we conduct ourselves (and we’re the ONLY agency that does that), and it’s not just the professional, ethical and legal service the Diamond Personnel offers… .

It’s you.

You! Our incredibly talented, hardworking, dedicated, patient, creative and energetic caregivers. You were caregivers working abroad; wonderful nannies who dreamed of a future in Canada. Then you decided to put your faith and your trust in us, to help guide you in making your dreams into a reality. In return, we introduced you to wonderful employers across Canada, with every inch of the Diamond process is legal, ethical and professional.

We never charge a cent to our caregivers for our services.

Diamond Personnel demands honesty and trust from our caregivers.

Let us know when you have any problems or concerns.

Share with us what is upsetting you.

Tell us if you are feeling overwhelmed.

Whether you are in Hong Kong or already here in Canada, you are a part of the Diamond Personnel family, and we are here to help you!

When you have been placed with a Diamond client, congratulations! This is a tremendous opportunity for you — the opportunity of a lifetime. We want this to be a commitment you are happy with.. As a Diamond Nanny — and therefore a representative of our agency — longevity is expected. With every new challenge in life, there will be difficulties and an adjustment period. That is completely natural, and no one will be upset if it takes you some time to get into the rhythm of things.

Canada is a place of opportunity, success and growth. Giving up or quitting on a job cannot be your first choice. Come to us first if you have any problems, we are here to listen and to help.

Good morning Diamond Nannies,

There has been a great deal of speculation and rumors flying around that if a caregiver’s permit has “Babysitter, nanny or parents’ helper” on it, than that caregiver will not qualify for permanent residency in Canada.

THAT IS FALSE!

As long as your Labour Market Opinion (LMO) has the NOC Code 6474 then you are fine! When the time comes for you to apply for your permanent residency, everything should go smoothly.

Do not be confused or misled by the rumors! Diamond Personnel takes care of its caregivers, and we will update you if there are any changes to the program.

We know that for many of our applicants and hopefuls, it can get confusing trying to understand all the requirements for Diamond Personnel. For a quick overview, please take a look at our FAQs page, or even our official website. What causes some confusion is the Canadian Caregiver Training Institute education we require from our applicants.

What sets Diamond Personnel apart from any other agency is the high standard we hold our nannies to: we are the best caregiver agency in Canada, and we offer only the brightest talent to our clients. In order to ensure that, we turned to the Canadian Caregiver Training Institute in Hong Kong. CCTI is a training school that is independent from Diamond Personnel — we do not benefit financially from the school or its students. What we benefit from is working with highly trained, professional caregivers.

The reason why we require our applicants to attend CCTI is because it trains its students for Canadian-standards for First Aid, CPR and safety. There are other components included in the CCTI training, and in the end, any graduate who walks away from CCTI is infinitely more knowledgeable and better trained caregiver.

Let’s put this into perspective:

Any high school graduate can apply for university. However, to set themselves apart from the pack and to be more appealing to their ideal university, it is better for that student to have extracurriculars, volunteer experience and extra qualifications or education.

That is the purpose of the CCTI training: to set our caregivers apart from the rest. That is why our clients come to Diamond — so they can meet the best and the brightest caregivers!

CCTI training is not mandatory by the Canadian government, but it is mandatory for Diamond Personnel.

All fees go directly to CCTI; Diamond Personnel does not benefit from them, nor do we dictate how much the fee is.

Attending CCTI does not guarantee you a position through Diamond Personnel. While we have many jobs here in Canada, any applicant can benefit from the CCTI training and apply with other agencies.

As an applicant, you are responsible for collecting, submitting and keeping track of the validity of all your documents. WE RECOMMEND YOU MAKE PHOTOCOPIES OF ALL IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS.

If you have any questions or concerns about CCTI, please contact them directly. You can reach them at 852-6198-6577.

Guess whose in the Toronto Globe and Mail?

Diamond Personnel is THRILLED to announce that the incredible Nanny Angel Network was featured in the illustrious Globe and Mail!

NAN was launched by our own Audrey Guth after her personal experience with cancer. The purpose of NAN is to offer free, professional childcare to mothers undergoing cancer treatment. The volunteers are usually Diamond Personnel nannies — incredible women who dedicated their time and generosity to families who need it most.

Please check out the piece here, and our sincerest thanks once again to the Globe and Mail for visiting our home.

On Friday, March 15 2013, we were reunited with our very own Mona.

We originally met Mona in Hong Kong, where she worked as a caregiver for a year and a half. After her interview with Audrey, she was quickly placed with a family here in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. There were delays with her visa, but her employers needed her as soon as possible. She was delayed by an additional 3 months! Because of the delays, her employers had no choice but to employ someone else.

Mona landed in Vancouver in 2008. When she arrived, she only had $60 on her and took the BUS across Canada to Toronto. Airfare would have been too much, and Mona ended up taking the bus for 3 days and 16 hours across Canada. Along the way, she lost her luggage and had only 3 pairs of underwear, basic toiletries, $30 cash, and her documents on her. During that time, Shauna and Audrey at Diamond Personnel were frantic — where was Mona?! We had no idea where she was!

Five days after her arrival to Vancouver, Mona landed at Yonge and Dundas in Toronto and called Diamond Personnel.

Mona had no idea where to go and was lost. Audrey was blown away! We quickly directed her to Audrey’s own home, and because Mona had no clothing on her, Diamond Personnel quickly collected clothing to give her. Once Mona was settled into Audrey’s home, Audrey set about trying to find her sponsors. Within hours, Audrey had contacted a family in northern Ontario, and by the next morning, Mona was back on a train to her new employers in Kapiskasing!

She stayed with that family for two and a half years. It was a wonderful and strong relationship. After Mona completed her live-in caregiver program, she returned to the Philippines where she reconnected with her loved ones. Mona returned to Toronto, Ontario to Diamond Personnel, and we placed her once again with single parent as a live-out nanny. Mona was with them for almost two years, helping raise a young boy.

In June 2012, Mona parted ways with her previous employer, the single father, returned to the Philippines and got married. Fast-forward to March 2013 and Mona is back in the Diamond Personnel office with her cousin, who is applying with us.

Mona is now 9 months pregnant, and we are thrilled for her!

In 2008, Mona stepped off the airplane in Vancouver with only $30 dollars in her pocket and no luggage. In 2013, she is happy, healthy, thriving in Toronto with her husband and pregnant with their first child. She has worked for lovely families all over Ontario, and maintains fantastic relationships with all of them.

Mona’s story is unique and an incredible tribute to Diamond Personnel. She remains on excellent terms with all of her employers, and in fact visits her previous employer and his son regularly! We are in awe of Mona’s successful journey here in Canada.

We are proud and honored to have had a part in Mona’s life. We can’t wait to see what incredible things she, her husband and their soon-to-be-arriving son will achieve in Canada.
